The annual mass balance of glaciers is zero. The annual accumulation of glaciers above this line is greater than the annual melting, and the annual melting of glaciers below this line is greater than the annual accumulation. The level of glacier mass balance refers to the average value of the total accumulation and total melting of glaciers. It reflects the role of glaciers in the total water balance and represents the dynamics of glacier changes. This data set is the material balance line data of Glacier No.1 at the source of Urumqi River from 1958 to 1995.
